Robert leads Fort Energy and oversees global investment activities for Montfort Group. He has over 25 years of industry experience, 17 of which he spent with Trafigura. There, Robert played a key role in establishing Puma Energy, where he served as Head of Investments, Chief Operating Officer, and Board Member. Following this, Robert became a director of an investment fund in Singapore and as Head of Investments for a large Saudi conglomerate. He holds a degree from the University of Cambridge and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales.
Jose serves as COO of Fort Energy, overseeing both Fort Energy Refining ME and our broader portfolio. With over 15 years of experience in the downstream and midstream sectors, Jose began his career at ExxonMobil in Guatemala before moving to the U.S. He later joined Puma Energy, where he managed fuel markting businesses in Southeast Asia and implemented regional strategies. Most recently, he served as General Manager for a fuel marketing business in Laos. Jose holds a bachelor's in engineering from Georgia Tech, an Industrial Engineering degree from Universidad del valle de Guatemala, and an MBA degree from Universidad Francisco Marroquín.
Matthew is a lawyer and has over 25 years’ experience gained at Shell and Eni. He has broad experience across upstream oil & gas projects, LNG projects, joint ventures & acquisitions, and compliance. In addition, he has trading and marketing experience in LNG, gas, power, and carbon markets. Matthew’s career has taken him to the U.S., U.K., Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, and Singapore and he has worked on projects and deals in many other countries, especially in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region
With over 40 years of experience in downstream, refining, and trading, Antonio has worked across Europe, Africa, the Americas, and the Middle East. Previously, Antonio served as Global Head ofOperations and Construction at Puma Energy and held senior roles at Petroplus and PDVSA. He holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Universidad Simón Bolívar in Venezuela and a master’s degree in petroleum Refining and Petrochemicals from the French Petroleum Institute.
Esrick has over 15 years of experience in the downstream and midstream sectors, with key roles in Shell South Africa and Shell Trading Middle East. He actively trades crude and products, focusing on the East and South African regions, and has expertise in supply chain optimization. Esrick holds degrees in ChemicalEngineering and Business Management.
Nathalie is the Head of Risk at Fort Energy and chairs our Risk Committee. She brings over 17 years of experience in risk management, having previously worked with Cargill and Gunvor. At Gunvor, she served as Head of the Group Risk Office, where she shaped the organization’s global risk management strategies. Nathalie's career underscores her ability to navigate diverse markets and lead international teams.
Luis is the Refinery Operations Manager at Fort Energy. He brings 28 years of experience in the oil industry, having previously held key operational roles at Puma Energy and Exxon Mobil. Over nearly three decades, Luis has managed multicultural teams and driven operational excellence, most recently serving as Refinery Manager in Papua New Guinea at Puma Energy. He holds a degree in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering.
Syed has been the Finance Director of Fort Energy since its inception. He has over 15years of experience in the oil trading industry, having held finance and accounting roles at Sinochem London, Mabanaft UK, and a Dubai-based Iraqi conglomerate. Syed holds a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Finance and is a Chartered Management Accountant (CIMA), both earned in the UK.
Nigel has over 30 years of experience across industries such as oil & gas, mining, manufacturing, and financial services, Nigel has held senior roles at Deloitte, Accenture, and BHP. He has led major transformation projects for global companies, blending technical knowledge with process expertise. Nigel holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from Curtin University and an MBA degree from the University of Western Australia.
